She Wants To Be A Butterfly

Copyright 2017 Words & Music Steve Pullara

We just came through a Summer to the colors of the Fall
hugging Moms and Dads as they responded to the call.
While standing in the airport waving bye-bye
my sister said, “I wanna be a butterfly!"

I want to be a butterfly and go way up high
blowing kisses to the airplanes as they’re flying by.
But I can’t be a butterfly no matter how I try,
I flap my arms but they don't lift me to the sky.

A butterfly can ask a plane to turn itself around.

Bring it safely to a landing to us waving on the ground.
There’d be lots of hugs and kisses from us looking up below.
We'd hug our moms & dads so tightly and never let 'em go.

I want to be a butterfly to go way up high.

Blowing  kisses to the airplanes as they’re flying by.

But we can’t be butterflies no matter how I try.

We flap our arms but they don't lift us to the sky.

We just came through a Summer to the colors of the Fall. Hugging Moms and Dads as they responded to the call.

While standing in the airport waving bye-bye

my sister said, “I wanna be a butterfly!"

She wants to be a butterfly to go way up high

Blowing kisses to the airplanes as they’re flying by.

But she can’t be a butterfly no matter how she tries,

So we wave so long for now and try to fly.
