I Got The Hiccups

Copyright 2018 Words & Music Steve Pullara

Our Fourth Of July Picnic (Narrative)

On the 4th of July our relatives and friends were invited over for a good old fashioned family barbecue. Everybody that was invited came to our house with wonderful treats like: pies, potato salad and special dishes. My family supplied the hot dogs, burgers, corn, and beverages. We all told jokes, played board games, performed card tricks, sang songs and watched relatives play horse shoes. My brother Paulie was eating corn on the cob too fast and developed a case of the hiccups! Everybody laughed, including Paulie, because each one sounded funnier than the last hiccup. He was happy when they stopped though!

I Got The Hiccups (Song)

I got the hiccups from a picnic today.
I need a break!
When will they go away?

I got the hiccups.
Where did they come from?

I got the hiccups!
More come back when I thnk they're done.

I got the hiccups!

Here come some more.
I'm told I can lose them if I count to four...

One, two, three, four...
They're back again!

Can someone tell me when

I got a fate from eating the food on my plate?

I just want them to gon away,

but it feels like they're here to stay.

Oh hiccups, please go away...

come back another day.

I got the hiccups! Why me?
I need a break.

Oh, I just hiccuped three!

When I think they're gone, they go on and on and on and on!

I'm told if I eat slow the hiccups will go.

I don't think so!!!!

No!
